Outdoor Activities in and Around Albuquerque
With over 300 days of sunshine a year, it’s no surprise that Albuquerque is a city made for outdoor activities. The city’s high-desert climate means you’ll see both deserts and forests, as well light pink sunsets and some of the best stargazing for miles. The Sandia Mountains are the star of the show, with hikes through the foothills surrounded by cacti and desert sage or exhilarating treks to the top of the mountains where you’ll encounter fir and pine trees. If hiking isn’t for you, don’t worry. There are tons of other ways to get outside in Albuquerque – and even see the city from dazzling new heights.

Albuquerque lies a mile above sea level, making it the perfect place for challenging hikes and high-intensity mountain biking trails.
